Celtic heritage celebrated at South Bend festival

It was all things Irish in South Bend this weekend and we're not just talking about the Notre Dame game.

Sunday, folks came out to Howard Park in their kilts for the annual Michiana Celtic festival

The event featured bagpipers, Irish step dancers and plenty of traditional food.

The competitive lads participated in the Highland Games which included an ax-throwing contest.

"The focus of the festival is to celebrate everything that is Celtic and of course to highlight what the Scots used to do in ancient history which is to see who is the biggest and the best," says Colleen O'Brien who was dressed as Mary Queen of Scots.

This was the eighth year for the festival.

A new addition this year was scotch tasting.
