Labor Day beachgoers not too concerned about rip currents

Monday's beautiful weather gave people the idea to hit the beaches at Lake Michigan for the holiday.

Silver Beach was pretty full with people wanting to get in their last bit of summer fun before the season changes.

Even though people were enjoying the mild temperatures and cool water, they had to be careful of rip currents.

The lake was under a red flag warning the whole day.

"We're a little more cautious. We had my daughter Emily that went into the water but we definitely watched her a lot closer than normal," says Steve Koetsier who spent Labor Day at Silver Beach.

The US Coast Guard says it was a very quiet day and the only call they got was for a disabled boat.
