Michiana wears orange for hunger awareness

You might have noticed Michiana had an orange glow to it on Thursday.  The Food Bank of Northern Indiana asked everyone to take action to fight hunger and raise awareness about hunger insecurity in their communities, by wearing orange on Go Orange for Hunger Day.

Many businesses, such as the South Bend Chocolate Cafe and the Jordan Automotive Group wore orange to show their support to the cause.

Jordan Automotive Group Sales Manager, Mike Knorr says that this awareness should take place all across the community.  "It's representative [of] just the awareness, that we need to chip in anything we can do in our community to help out," Knorr said, "Jordan Automotive Group is here to support."

One in six Americans struggle with hunger insecurity.  The Food Bank says in northern Indiana, 16% of the population does not have enough to eat.
