National Champ Rohrer Out With Broken Foot

Mishawaka State and National Champ Anna Rohrer is likely out for the season after suffering a broken bone in her left foot.  The recovery time is expected to be around 8 weeks.  Mishawaka Coach Chris Kowalewski told the Cavemen team Thursday afternoon.

FOX 28's Adam Shear was in Dowagiac in August when she clocked the fastest 5,000 meter time in Indiana history at 16:52.25.  And FOX 28's Dean Huppert was at her meet Tuesday when coach decided to hold her out so she could rest for a couple of weeks.  At the time he told us they were trying to keep her healthy because she would hopefully be running into December with her state and national schedule.

It's unclear if Rohrer will be able to run in the Cross Country State Championship in October or defend her National Championship later in the Fall.  Rohrer is also a track state champ in the 3200.
