SBCSC opens health & wellness center for employees

Posted:

It's been over a year since South Bend Community School Corporation employees learned that their health insurance premiums were going up.

Now, the school corporation has opened a health and wellness center as part of the new health insurance plan.

Activate Health and Wellness center provides free health care for S-B-C-S-C employees and their dependents who are on the insurance plan.

The center is located on Lincoln Way East, is staffed with 2 primary care physicians and offers a variety of services.

"We do urgent care and so we're going to be doing acute care." Dr. Rina Patel says, "If somebody's sick, they should call and say can we see them, we try to see them the same day... the latest, hopefully the next day"

The center will serve people of all ages and one of their main focuses is to keep their employees healthy.

You can find more information about the Activate Health and Wellness Center here.
