UPDATE: South Shore train death ruled suicide


A pedestrian has been hit by a train on the South Shore Line west of Michigan City around 6:30am on Wednesday. The person was killed in the crash, and authorities are ruling it a suicide. 

South Shore trains 12 and 112 were been delayed while emergency crews worked the scene.  All service was restored around 9:00am.
