Chicago car thief suspects in custody in Berrien County

Two Chicago carjacking suspects are in custody in Berrien County after the stolen car broke down on I-94.

Michigan State Police say they were called out to a stranded driver, but when they got there non one was around.  They found two men walking.  When an officer tried to talk to them, one fled into the woods.

Police discovered that the car had been stolen in Chicago.  Police took the other man, Willie Dixon, into custody, and called in a canine unit to track the fleeing suspect.

Police say the fleeing suspect stole a bicycle from a home, then rode to another home and stole a vehicle.  New Buffalo police chased the stolen vehicle that eventually crashed, and police arrested the driver, Anthony Dixon.

Both Willie and Anthony Dixon  are facing charges of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.  Anthony Dixon is also facing charges of Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile, Fleeing and Eluding, and Resisting and Obstructing Arrest.

Police have not released the identities of the suspects pending arraignment.
