Martin's Super Market at 1200 N. Nappanee Street in Elkhart hosted a cookout on Friday to benefit a local teenager undergoing treatment for colon cancer.  All proceeds from the store's day-long cookout will be donated to the "Sarah Strong" organization, a group created by friends and family of Sarah Crane, an Elkhart Memorial High School student now battling cancer.

Store Manager, Bill Alford says it is important to help out when you can in the community.  "It's great to support your local, especially with her being a student at Elkhart Memorial High School," Alford said, "What a great way to band together and show comradery and to show them we are behind them one hundred percent.

The cookout was staffed by Martin's employees from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  A hot dog, chips and beverage meal was available for a $2 donation, while a hamburger, chips and beverage meal will be available for $3.
