Two men from were arrested on meth charges following an early Friday traffic stop.

LaGrange City Police say an officer made the stop around 1:05 am near the intersection of Poplar and Michigan Streets. During the stop, the officer believed the people in the car may have been attempting to hide drugs.

A K-9 from the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department was called in and alerted officers that drugs were possibly in the car.  After searching the car, police say officers found baggies of methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia.

Police say a judge signed a search warrant for one of the men's home in the 200 block of Yoder Street in Topeka. Police say this led to the discovery of drug related items they say are associated with the possession, use and delivery of meth.

Police arrested 20-year-old Seth Bender and 49-year-old Jeffery Coney, both of Topeka. Bender is charged with possessing meth and maintaining a common nuisance. Coney is charged with possession of paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance.

Police say while attempting to located witnesses at the Topeka location, officers found a wanted man. 24-year-old Jesus Luciano Hernandez of Elkhart was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
