101-year-old woman gets over $800 for her final quilt

A 101-year-old Michiana woman has auctioned off her last quilt.  We first told you about Frances Stauffer on Wednesday.  She has been making quilts for the Mennonite Relief sale every year since it started in 1946.

At almost 102 she decided this would be her last year.  Her final quilt called "feathered star" went for $850 dollars Saturday.  Stauffer wasn't at the auction but organizers said her quilts will be missed.  "It's kinda the end of an era.  It's an amazing artistic woman that has really given a lot to the relief sale and really helped a lot of people around the world by doing so," said Quilt Committee Chairperson Mafra Maust.

Every year the auction brings in over $100 thousand for the Mennonite Central Committee.
