UDPATE: Teen killed in St. Joe Co. car/semi accident identified

Posted:

Police have identified the teen killed in a crash with a semi truck on Tuesday.  St. Joe County Police Dispatch says the crash involved a truck and a car on 900 East at the county line of St. Joseph and LaPorte Counties near SR 2.

St. Joseph County Police say 17-year-old Skyler Kleine of LaPorte died in the crash.  A passenger, 19-year-old Aaron Oaks, also of LaPorte was taken to an area hospital for pain in his arm and leg.  The truck driver was not injured.

Investigators believe the truck was going east on SR 2.  The car was heading north on 900 East.  The car did not stop at the stop sign, and turned east.  The truck was also passing through the intersection, and the car went under the semi's trailer.

Police do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.  The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
