Advice for homeowners turning on their furnace for the first time

With the temperatures beginning to drop, homeowners in Michiana are beginning to turn on their furnaces for the first time.  Great Lakes Heating and Air conditioning has been receiving calls for maintenance on furnaces that are not working.

Comfort Adviser with Great Lakes Heating and Air conditioning, Bruce Thompson says the small cost of furnace maintenance, is a lot less expensive than having it actually break down.  "Defiantly check your filter to make sure they are clean," Thompson said, "we have calls every year burnt up heat exchangers from dirty filters and incorrect air flow."

Great Lakes advises costumers, the farther into the season it gets, the more busy they will become and will take longer to respond to an issue.
