Walking from Chicago to New York to promote anti-bullying

The month of October is National Bullying Prevention Month.  To commemorate this, Elliot London and Ronnie Kroell are walking 921 miles, from Chicago to New York over 37 days, to raise awareness for increased bullying prevention efforts across the country.  On Wednesday, the two marked their 100th mile as they crossed into Elkhart County, by tying a purple ribbon to a tree.

Kroell and London say they wanted to take action to make people aware of the bullying problem.  "There is a lot of talk about the bullying issue," Kroell said, "but we wanted to be on the ground.  We are artists and storytellers, so it is important to talk about these kinds of things."

London and Kroell are co-founders of Friend Movement, which they started in response to the increasing number of suicides being committed as a result of bullying.  You can track their progress and donate to their cause at Friend Movement.
