St. Joseph County Police investigating another home invasion

St. Joseph County Police are investigating the second home invasion in as many days.

This one happened in the 18 thousand block of Paul's Way in Clay Township Saturday evening.

Police say an elderly woman heard the doorbell ring and went to answer it.

She says a man was at the door trying to show her a picture of a dog.

She refused to open the door and went back to watching television.

A few minutes later she heard a noise near the front door, so she hit her panic button.

When police arrived, they found her front doorknob broken off and back sliding glass door shattered.

Police say the suspect got away with cash and jewelry.

The woman wasn't hurt.

Police say the suspect is a thin male either white or Hispanic. He's about six feet tall with wavy, brown hair and wearing a T-shirt and pants.

Police can't say if this home invasion is connected to Friday's, but they're not ruling it out either.
