Indiana Conservation Officers say they've arrested a Chicago man in Starke County for illegally buying and selling wildlife.

Officers served a search warrant on 47-year-old Alexander Moy's property in Starke County near Hamlet Monday morning.

DNR says Conservation Officers got complaints about Moy purchasing whitetail deer from members of the public in 2011. Over a period of months, officers say they were able to document a number of wildlife sales. Officers believe Moy was reselling the wildlife, such as fish, turtles, raccoon and whitetail deer, to markets and restaurants in Chicago's Chinatown.

During Monday's search of Moy's property, known as Kankakee Valley Fish Farm, officers say they seized evidence related to the sale and equipment and animals involved in the operation.

Officers say Moy could face up to 3 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines for each felony charge of illegal selling of wildlife. Officers are continuing their investigation in cooperation with the Starke County Prosecutor's Office. The DNR says the investigation could lead to additional arrests.
