Free braces were helping kids smile in South Bend

Posted:

Four kids were awarded orthodontic work including braces in South Bend, Wednesday from the Smile For A Lifetime Foundation.  Smile For A Lifetime is an foundation who's goal is to create self-confidence, inspire hope, and change the lives of children in our community.

The foundation gives away eight orthodontic scholarships a year.  Screenings for the top applicants and the most deserving children are done by the foundations board of directors.  The board meets twice a year to decide on winners.

Dr. Chad Harrington believes helping give kids self confidence today, will pay off in the community in the future.  "It's a special day when the braces go on and it's a special day when the braces come off," Harrington said, "you really see the kids take a stride forward in life with self confidence."

For more information on the Foundation or to apply for the scholarship visit Harrington Orthodontics.
