Vigil for Rayna Rison in Rolling Prairie

A teenage girl was remembered Wednesday with a vigil after a 20-year wait for justice.

Family and friends of 16-year-old Rayna Rison gathered at Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church.

Those in attendance shared memories of Rison, watched a picture slide show.

They then released balloons with lights attached to them.

It was an evening planned to help the family prepare for the court hearing for her accused killer, Jason Tibbs, on Friday.

"People have asked me if I'm upset or mad or am I going to scream at him," said Rayna's sister Wendy Hakes. "You know he made this bed I didn't. He has to live with what he did. We just need to figure out why he did it."

A fundraiser was also held with the proceeds going to a scholarship fund created in Rayna's honor.
