Potawatomi Zoo prepares for Halloween events

Posted:

The Potawatomi Zoo is busy preparing for one of their most popular weekends of the year.  Zoo Boo is an annual event, where the zoo is transformed into a kid friendly, safe Halloween event.  Kids are encouraged to come in costume and collect candy through out the zoo.

Director of the Potawatomi Zoological Society, Marcy Dean reminds parents, this is a safe trick or treat event.  "It combines candy, animals, lights," Dean said, "and families and kids just equate the zoo with fun and so you bring Halloween into the mix and it gives families the opportunity to come out and enjoy the zoo.

Zoo Boo Hours are:

 Friday, October 25 - 6-9pm
 Saturday, October 26 - 3-9pm
Sunday, October 27 - noon-4pm (recommended for children 7 and under)

Admission:

    $8.50 - adults
    $6.50 - children ages 3-14
    $6.50 - seniors 62+
Free - children 2 and under

The zoo is also hosting an adults only party on Thursday called Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular.  Guests will be able to walk through the Zoo and check out decorations and visit the Corporate Picnic area where they will have a DJ, beer and wine, food (available for purchase) and a costume contest.  The event runs from 7pm until 10pm and tickets are on sale at the zoo's members booth.
