Police say be careful with Halloween costumes

Halloween is all about candy and fun but it's also important to stay safe.

Police say it's critical for parents to be aware of their kids costumes.  Putting reflectors or glow sticks on the costume is a good way to make sure they are visible.

If your children are planning on wearing masks make sure they can see well even if it means you have to cut bigger eye holes.

"If you buy them a mask and it doesn't fit them properly, when they're running that mask is gonna move, that means the eye holes are gonna move which can affect their vision," says Lt. Tim Williams of the Mishawaka Police.

Lieutenant Williams also recommends using make-up instead of masks.
