Teen hit by two cars while crossing Benton Twp. street

A 19-year-old Benton Harbor woman needed to be airlifted to a Kalamazoo hospital after she was hit by two different cars while crossing the street.  Benton Charter Township police say Jamyra Mosby was crossing Martin Luther King Drive at the Highland Ave. intersection around 8:00pm on Monday when the accident happened.

A minivan driven by Michael Guest of Benton Harbor was heading north while Mosby was crossing, couldn't stop, and hit her, police say.  The driver of a second car, Brian Corhn of Benton Harbor, told police he was unaware of the collision and also hit Mosby as she was lying in the road.

Mosby was taken to area hospital with severe head trauma, and eventually flown to a Kalamazoo hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation, but police do say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
