Crews take on Elkhart County barn fire west of Goshen

Posted:

Elkhart County crews remain on the scene of barn fire that started early Tuesday morning.

It broke out around 6:30 at Martin Animal Bedding on State Road 119 between County Road 36 and County Road 17. That's just west of the Goshen city limits.  State Road 119, County Road 36 and County Road 17 were closed down for a time. Only County Road 17 is still closed as of 2:30 p.m.

At least nine departments were on the scene to help with the lack of water.

Crews are still on the scene looking for hot spots. No injuries have been reported. Our crew on the scene has learned the barn has been ruled a total loss.

We'll bring you more information as it becomes available both on air and online at FOX28.com.
