Everett Golson speaks to SI about cheating and future with Irish

Everett Golson has opened up about the cheating incident that kept him from playing for the Fighting Irish this year, and why he chose to stick it out in hopes of returning to Notre Dame in January.

Golson told Sports Illustrated he expects the university will let him return to school, and the team.  "My heart was set on going back to Notre Dame," said Golson.  "Not necessarily to prove to anybody, just really doing it for me...I was going to face it."

For the past two months Golson says he's been working with a private quarterback coach that he thinks has made a better "more polished" player.  But, Golson says he's more focused on getting back into the classroom, because that is where he made his "poor judgement on the test."

Golson was a redshirt freshman last year, and part of the Irish's 12-0 regular season that led to them playing in the national title game.
