UPDATE: Police capture suspect in shooting of 6-year-old

We have an update for you on the search for a shooting suspect.

Police say Kenny D. Lee is in custody right now and is being questioned.

Lee is a suspect in the shooting of his 6 year old son.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's office charged Lee with Attempted Battery and Criminal Recklessness Friday.

Police say the boy and Lee were visiting a house near Olive St. and Prast Blvd. around 11:30pm when the shooting happened.  A fight reportedly broke out between the Lee and his son's uncle, Jerome Holloway.

Lee's niece told police that Lee eventually left the house and started riding away on a bike.  He then reportedly stopped, pulled a handgun, and shot at Holloway.  She said the shot missed and hit Lee's son instead.

Court documents describe the boy's injury as serious.  They go on to say that doctors were unsure whether his entire leg and foot could be saved.

Anyone with information on this case, is asked to call the South Bend Police Department at 574-235-9263 or Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP (7867).
