Troopers say a traffic stop just east of the toll plaza on the Indiana Toll Road near Portage led to the discovery of 82 pounds of marijuana, and the arrest of a South Bend man.

Indiana State Police say a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Trooper pulled over an eastbound sedan going 60 in a 40 mph zone around 10:30am Thursday. Police say the driver was very nervous and gave inconsistent answers. Troopers say a canine from the Drug Enforcement Agency alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. A search followed, where police found two large bundles of marijuana in the trunk.

Police seized the vehicle and arrested the driver, 23-year-old Armando Bautista of South Bend. He was taken to the Porter County Jail on charges of Procession of Marijuana over 30 grams and Dealing in Marijuana over 10 pounds.
