Red Kettle Campaign kicks off in Michiana

A holiday tradition kicked off Friday at the University Park Mall, the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign.  You probably know it by the bell ringers.

For the kick off event several local bands and choirs performed.  RJ Kroc was also there greeting people.

Any money dropped into the red buckets will help with several campaigns, including this holiday one.  Sr. Kroc Center Officer with the Salvation Army Major Bob Webster said, "It stays here locally to help people with food, shelter and clothing. We do all sorts of educational classes to try and help people such as resume writing and even how to live healthy."

You have until December 24th to give money any time you see the red buckets.
