Notre Dame falls to 7-3 with loss at Pitt

The forth quarter had been kind to the Irish the past few years, but it was a different story on the road against the Pitt Panthers Saturday night.

Tommy Rees threw two interceptions in the early part of the final quarter leading to a 21-28 Notre Dame loss. One of the turnovers came in the red zone and ended a potential scoring drive. The Panthers used the other to take the lead, which wound up being the final score.

The 28-21 loss at Pittsburgh essentially ends any shot Notre Dame had left at playing in a BCS Bowl Game as the Irish fall to 7-3.

Outside of the two interceptions, Rees finished the game with 318 yards and two touchdowns. TJ Jones caught six passes from Rees for 149 yards and a touchdown. Freshman running back Tarean Folston, who had a big game against Navy, only had four carries for 13 yards in the loss to Pitt.

Notre Dame defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt was ejected from the game in the first half for a targeting penalty.
