Early morning snow causes crashes, slow downs

Michiana police are keeping their eyes on the roads where snow is causing a number of traffic issues in our western counties.

Indiana State Police have opened the Indiana Toll Road back up near mile marker 57 and mile marker 55 in LaPorte County where semis crashed earlier. But they say traffic is slow between mile markers 39 and 62, with white out conditions in some areas.

Berrien County dispatchers tell us police have re-opened I-94, which was closed near Benton Harbor. But they do say traffic is slow there due to icy conditions.

The Indiana Avenue bridge in the city of LaPorte was closed north of Lincolnway because of cars stalling while trying to cross, but it has since reopened.

A semi rollover crash had traffic moving slowly on U.S. 30 near Hanna in LaPorte County.  Authorities say that crash has been cleared at this time.
