Mother accused of leaving baby in dumpster off GPS monitoring

Purvi Patel, the woman accused of leaving her baby in a dumpster, will no longer have to wear a GPS monitoring device.

Patel had been under GPS monitoring as part of an agreement that allowed her to travel to Illinois and Michigan for work.  Her attorney had made the request to have the GPS monitoring removed back in October, but the judge did not agree to its removal until Tuesday.

Patel remains under pretrial supervision and probation while she awaits trial.  Her trial is currently scheduled to begin on February 10, 2014.

Patel is charged with neglect of a dependent after police say she admitted that a baby found in a dumpster behind Moe's Southwest Grill was hers.
