A large majority of customers without power following Sunday's storms were back on by Wednesday evening.

Indiana Michigan Power

I&M says they were able to get restore power to all customers in St. Joseph County Wednesday. I&M says they also made significant progress restoring power to hard-hit Michigan areas. They expect to have power restored to all customers by 11 p.m. Thursday.

Approximate number of I&M customers without power as of 10 p.m. Wednesday:

Benton Harbor area: 51 customers
Three Rivers area: 98 customers
Buchanan area: 102 customers
New Buffalo area: 471 customers

North central LaPorte County: 84 customers

Midwest Energy

As of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, all Midwest Energy Cooperative customers had their power restored. The utility says good weather conditions and the help of crews from other utilities helped crews clean up and restore power more quickly than originally anticipated.

Any Midwest members who still do not have power or lose service tonight are encouraged to report the outage at 800-492-5989.

NIPSCO estimates around 96 customers were still without power Wednesday evening, most in Northwest Indiana. At the peak, more than 75,000 customers were without power.
