I joined FOX28 in November of 2013 as a multimedia journalist, and I am absolutely thrilled to call Michiana my new home.
I knew at an early age I wanted to have a job where I was in the community, hearing and sharing people's stories, and seeing things not everyone has the chance of seeing every day. Growing up in Chicago, I watched the morning news shows with my mom before heading off to school, and I would stay up late just to see the nightly newscasts. I also watched the "Weekend Updates" segment on Saturday Night Live every weekend, thanks to my dad! Needless to say, a newscast is something that still excites me every single day. When I was little and asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, "The lady on TV," was my response. Little did I know I would actually one day be "the lady on TV".
My television career started west of Chicago in Rockford, Illinois, for WIFR-Channel 23, a CBS affiliate. In Rockford I learned to love the thrill of a great news story. Rockford is continuously ranked one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S., so I got my share of breaking news stories. But I covered a wide variety of news stories, including many blizzards as they blew across northern Illinois.
I was born and raised in Chicago, but I am no stranger to Indiana. I attended Purdue University and majored in Broadcast Journalism. I was the Captain of the Purdue Dance Team and a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. I'm a Boilermaker at heart, but I still root for the Fighting Irish -- my brother is a Notre Dame student -- and after attending Fighting Irish Football games, I'm no stranger to South Bend either.
You may have already figured out I'm a sports fanatic! One of the best things about moving to Michiana from Chicago means I don't have to feel guilty for being a die-hard Colts fan! But I still love my Blackhawks (Patrick Kane and I share the same birthday), White Sox, and the Bulls! I actually had the experience of dancing for the Bulls as a "Luvabull" for the 2009-2010 season!
When I'm not covering your local Michiana stories, I love exploring new restaurants, meeting new people, and seeing all of what Michiana is about! I also love running, dancing, and standup comedy!
