Storm debris pick up dates announced for St. Joseph County

St. Joseph County Commissioners have announced the County will pick up storm damage debris beginning Monday, November 25th through Friday, December 6, 2013.
Residents are asked to place storm debris near the curb line or shoulder within their properties and County personnel will collect and remove the debris during the next two weeks.
Since the leaf pick-up program is on-going, County officials urge residents to keep storm debris piles AWAY from leaf piles.  Crews picking up the leaves do not have the ability to handle the storm debris.  Please place these items in a separate location on the property to help both of these efforts continue as easily as possible.  Also, please do not place storm debris in the roadway and create a safety hazard for the traveling public.
Feel free to contact County Public Works at 574-235-9626 to leave a message with the address of the property requiring storm debris pick-up, and the County will schedule crews to collect the debris during the two week period from November 25th through December 6th.  In the event of snow, crews will handle plowing first and then resume picking up storm debris once the roads are clear.
