Clay basketball team participating in "Holidays From The Heart"

The Clay High School basketball team isn't just gearing up for a new season, they're also chipping in to help those in need for the holidays.

The team is participating in "Holidays From the Heart."  They'll be collecting toys, games, and crafts to deliver to children who will be in the hospital for the holidays.  It's part of "Tatum's Bags of Fun," which has a connection to the school.

"Tatum's Bags Of Fun was started a couple years ago. Her father was a Clay graduate and she had cancer twice, so she received a bag when she was in the hospital," said Clay High School Boys Basketball parent group leader, Amy Hardy.

"We want the kids to give back to the community and to be able to understand what it's like for the kids who are suffering, and how fortunate they are to be healthy," said Clay High School Basketball Head Coach, Joe Huppenthal

If you'd like to donate, there is a donation box at the high school.

There are also collection boxes at various locations around the Michiana area.

Please call Amy at 574-300-9036 or Ella 574-485-7802 or you can email albvirgo@aol.com or ellagreenrichmond@yahoo.com for additional locations.
