Police looking for man who assaulted Wendy’s employee over too much ice

Police in LaPorte are looking for a man they say tried to assault a Wendy's employee through the drive-thru window Saturday evening.

An employee told police an elderly woman driving with a younger man in the passenger seat pulled up to the drive-thru window to collect their order. Police say the male passenger had asked for very little ice in his drink. Police say the man got upset, saying the drink had too much ice. Police say he got out of the car, threw his drink on the ground and started slamming the drive-thru window open and closed. Police say the man then grabbed the employee's arm. The employee was able to pull away, after which police say the man got back in the car and drove away.

Police were given a possible license plate number of the vehicle, but it didn't turn up anything. The car was described as a large white vehicle, possibly a Lincoln or Cadillac.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LaPorte Police Department at 219-362-9446.
