UPDATE: One person hurt after early morning fire in Mishawaka

One man was taken to the hospital after an early morning house fire in Mishawaka.

Firefighters were called out to a home on West Fifth Street just after 2 a.m. Thursday morning. Fire investigators say the fire started in an upstairs bedroom in the home.

Two people were in the home at the time. One of the two suffered burns to his hands and some smoke inhalation, but was expected to be released Thursday afternoon. The other person and two cats in the home were not hurt.

The Mishawaka Fire Marshal says the fire was accidental.
