Lakeshore's Denny Dock to retire from coaching football

Lakeshore High School coaching legend Denny Dock is retiring from coaching football.

The announcement was made Friday afternoon at Lakeshore High School.

Dock was head coach of the Lancers for 26 seasons, compiling 263 victories. Lakeshore was 11-1 in 2012 and finished 9-4 in 2013, losing in the Semi-finals to Zeeland West 42-7. Before Lakeshore, Dock also coached at Hartford and Dowagiac.

Dock also coaches softball for Lakeshore. He tells FOX28's Dean Huppert he still plans on coaching softball, but he doesn't know for how long.

Dock is in both the Michigan football and softball Hall of Fames.

FOX28's Dean Huppert will have more from Dock tonight on FOX28 Sports Extra.
