UPDATE: Lake Michigan College campuses to reopen Saturday

Lake Michigan College will reopen its campuses Saturday after security concerns closed them Friday.

Lake Michigan College posted alerts on their website, Facebook and Twitter Friday morning that all campuses are closed for "security concerns."

It appears the security concerns were about a recently terminated employee. According to the college, administration was told by third parties that the former employee was making threats to retaliate. The College says it reported the threats to the Benton Township Police, the Michigan State Police, and the FBI.

Michigan State Police say they did interview someone about the threats. Police say that person was released after the threats were deemed "not specific nor credible."

The college says it took the precautionary step of closing the campus as a precautionary step.

Lake Michigan College has four locations, Niles, South Haven and two locations in Benton Harbor.
