Hoosiers flock to buy Mega Millions tickets

What a perfect Christmas gift, $636 million!

That's how much is up for grabs in Tuesday's mega millions drawing.

Nearly every customer coming into the Hazen's BP on Old US 20 in Elkhart, Tuesday was asking for the same thing-- one mega millions ticket please!

"The mega millions, because you have to! Somebody's got to win it, right?" says Lori Lovitt, who bought a ticket.

Paula Otto, who is the Lead Director for Mega Millions says, "We have never been in this position, to have a jackpot this tremendous, over half a billion dollars already, the week before Christmas."

So what would you do with all that money? It's a tough question to answer, but one you'd be willing to, if luck is on your side.

"Obviously it would go towards some bills and some toys and family. I don't know, I guess I'd just like to have that problem, figuring out how to spend it," says Tim Kunigonis, who bought a ticket.

Businesses would be happy to help you figure it out.

"We could probably put the factory in 24 hour production and make someone very happy with a lot of chocolate," says Nisa Buller with the South Bend Chocolate Cafe.

Buller says, maybe the lucky winner would want to buy their 65 pound solid chocolate Santa, $400 a piece. With $636 million, you can buy more than 1.5 million of them!

In this season of giving, many folks say, they'd share.

"Especially for my country in the Philippines. I could really give them a lot of money, you know? They really need help," says Flo Maligaya, who bought a ticket.

Mega millions says if there's no winner Tuesday, the jackpot could swell to $800 million, or $1 billion by Christmas.

Are you the winner? The winning numbers are: 8,20,14,17,39 and the Mega Ball is 7.
