Presents are dropped off at the Goshen Salvation Army

Posted:

Wednesday was a special day at the Goshen Salvation Army.  People were dropping off packages of toys, clothes, and food for families they adopted in this years Adopt A Family program.

Goshen's Salvation Army Major, Karen Hanton says this is a very exciting day to be at the Salvation Army.  "We are spreading love and Christmas cheer to everyone," Hanton said, "the Salvation Army is a Christian based organization and that Jesus does love them and care for them."

Goshen resident, Chris Bennett has been donating to Adopt A Family for the past four years.  "We should be grateful for where we are in life," Bennett said, "there are ways of giving back and it is very humbling giving back in many ways.

One-hundred and forty-seven families were adopted this year in Goshen.  Friday is the day the families who were adopted will be able to pick up their packages.
