If you bought a lottery ticket in Niles, you better check it.  You could be the lucky winner.  Someone matched all of the numbers except the Mega Ball-ball.

A $1 million winning lottery ticket was sold at the Martin's on 11th street in Niles and those who live in the town are shocked.  Patsy Pumphrey said,  "I didn't think it would hit home.  I thought it'd be somebody else, somewhere else."

But the surprise of a local winner is a good surprise.  David Harbaugh said, "That's very cool.  I don't think that's ever happened in this town and I've lived here for 40 some years."

The winner could also be in for a big surprise.  The Niles winner hasn't come forward, so he or she may not even know they've won yet.  Niles residents said they'll be getting in contact with their friends and family to make sure everyone has checked their tickets.  "I'll definitely make some phone calls," said Harbaugh.

Nationally, there's still some mystery to the mega millions winners too.  Two winning tickets were sold, one in Georgia and one in California, but only the Georgia winner has claimed her prize.

Fifty-six-year-old Ira Curry of Stone Mountain Georgia is splitting the winnings with whomever holds the winning ticket in California.

While that winner is still a mystery, the shop owner where the winning ticket was sold is talking, he'll get one million dollars.  Thuy Nguyen said, "What will I do with the money?  I will try and be successful in the USA."

Back in Niles people are happy for their new local millionaire, whoever that may be.  "Whoever won it congratulations and best of luck that you do the right choices with it," said Pumphrey.

There were 20, $1 million winners, the Niles winner is one of those. Mega Millions says a "huge number" of tickets won lesser prizes so make sure you check your tickets.
