UPDATE: One man killed in overnight shooting in South Bend

Police are investigating a homicide that took place Wednesday night in South Bend.  According to dispatchers it happened a little before midnight off Chestnut Street.

When officers arrived on the scene they found 48-year-old Wayne Anderson who had suffered a gunshot wound.  Police tried CPR and rushed him to a local hospital, but he died a short time later.

Police have arrested the victim's brother, 54-year-old William Anderson on manslaughter charges.  Family members have been notified.

Neighbors say they did not see this coming.  "That right there for example, there is no way that could of been foreseen, and for it to be according to what is said, two brothers, I mean that is really ridiculous," says Valentino Douglas a neighbor.

South Bend Metro Homicide will work with the Prosecutor's Office to figure out formal charges.
