"Wizard of Oz" show canceled after actor passes out

Fans of "The Wizard of Oz" left disappointed Saturday at the Round Barn Theatre in Nappanee after one of the cast members fainted backstage and had to be taken to a local hospital.

Ramaad Morris, who plays the Scarecrow, started the show but passed out during the third scene.

The director told the audience that there would be a delay because a cast member had gotten seriously ill.

Then after an hour, he gave the news that the 2:00pm show would have to be canceled.

A crowd of close to 400 people was given the opportunity to get a refund or to reschedule for another performance.

FOX28 Sports Director Dean Huppert was in the audience and said Director Jeremy Littlejohn  handled the situation very professionally given the circumstances.

The "Wizard of Oz" started  November 15th and runs through December 31st with 41 performances.

The 8:00pm show on Saturday, is scheduled to go on as scheduled.
