Elkhart County downgrades to a watch at 6:00 p.m.

Elkhart County will no longer be under a Travel Warning as of 6:00 p.m. Monday evening.

County Commissioner Mike Yoder announced the downgrade on his Facebook page.

The change in declaration means travel to work is now allowed, but with extreme caution. County offices will also be open.

Yoder says the Highway Department estimates 15-20% of county roads will still be a problem Tuesday morning, especially North/South Roads. Some county roads will be one lane only.

Yoder says some residential streets have not yet been plowed. He's asking employers be aware not everyone has an open road or street.
