ERs busy during snow emergency

We may be in the midst of a winter weather emergency, but Emergency Rooms are keeping the lights on.

Elkhart General Hospital was busy Monday. Doctors say they treated patients who suffered injuries from car accidents and are also seeing people with the flu.

Because the storm started Sunday, many staff members had no choice but to sleep over into Monday morning.

"All the clinics, all the urgent care facilities are closed, so the emergency department is it. Many of the staff were here overnight because of the weather, so things are pretty frazzled," says ER doctor, David VanRyn.

We're told many workers who couldn't drive in Monday morning were picked up and brought to work by volunteer Jeep Club Members.
