TRANSPO bus service resumes

Posted:

Transpo resumed service Tuesday at noon.  The bus service have been suspended due to the dangerous weather conditions.

Transpo user, Leonard Cathey  is happy the bus is running again.  "I'm happy," Cathey said, "because yesterday I couldn't get to work."  Another Transpo user, Severo Jimenez, is also excited to see the bus service reinstated.  "Yesterday I couldn't do anything," Jimenez said, "I was stuck at home because I don't drive, so public transportation is my main way to get around."

Transpo General Manager, David Canginy said safety was their main concern, and are excited conditions have improved enough to get busses running again.  "It's great to get back to normal here at Transpo," Canginy said, "we have had the busses parked in the garage for way too long, we are glad to get out on the streets to serve the residents of South Bend and MIshawaka."

Some bus routes may be altered, due to busses not being able to get down all streets.  Transpo also warns passengers, busses are expected to be running slower than normal.  They advise riders to check their SBTranspo.com or call their information hotline, (574) 233-2131 for up to date bus schedules.
