Governor visits Michiana to thank first responders

Indiana Governor Mike Pence was in Michiana Thursday to thank those who helped with our historic deep freeze.

Governor Pence greeted the LaGrange County Chamber of Commerce today. He thanked all first responders and their efforts, including fire fighters, police, road crews, and the national guard. Governor Pence talked about being in office for a little over a year now and how this storm affected his term so far.  He commented on his drive into Shipshewana, "It is, even in this part of the state, dramatic to see. But what's more impressive to me is the response and the fact that our major roads are largely open again. The warming temperatures are helping with that."

Governor Pence traveled to Fort Wayne after his trip to Michiana to thank first responders as well.
