Concord Schools looking for ways to replace lost funding

Property Tax Cuts from over five years ago are still affecting local school districts.  And now Concord Community Schools are looking at ways to replace funding losses.

Superintendent Wayne Stubbs wants to go forward with a referendum that would make up for the money lost.  He said the school district is currently using money from general funds.  In 2014 the district expects to lose 4.2 million dollars.

"It's to be able to put things back in place that we've had to get rid of. For instance, field trips, summer school programs, we've had to cut a lot of staff," said Stubbs.

The school district lost 3.9 million dollars in 2013.
