Give blood, get a cookie

Posted:

Thin Mints or Peanut Butter Patty, pick your favorite during the, "Give Blood.  Get a Cookie." Blood Drives.

Two iconic organizations, the American Red Cross and Girl Scouts are using the sweet treats to lure in donors over the next week and a half.

They kicked off their first drive at the First Baptist Church in Goshen Monday.

Many thought it was the perfect excuse to give, as if you need a better excuse than this, "They say that one pint of blood can save 3 lives.  They can take that blood apart and use different parts of it for different things," said Cinde Bontrager, the Blood Drive Coordinator.

The blood is used for people who've had surgeries, in accident cases and cancer patients.

The "Give Blood. Get a Cookie." drives will continue this month.  Here's a full list of drives.
