Youth take part in MLK activities

Posted:

South Bend's Youth did not want to be left out of the Martin Luther King Day events.  They held a youth panel, to talk about health, education, economics, and social status of African American boys and girls in our community.  The panel was made up of six South Bend high school students, who discussed different topics and addressed questions from the audience.

Adams High School student, Philip Moss says this is the perfect opportunity to send a message to South Bend's youth that adults would not be able to do.  "Oftentimes, when youth are looking to adults, there is a little bit of a disconnect," Moss said, "but when youth are trying to inspire other youth, there is really a great movement that happens."

The event was sponsored by the South Bend Chapter Indiana Black Expo.
