Plane lands safely at Elkhart airport after landing gear trouble


Several people are breathing a sigh of relief this evening after a harrowing plane landing at the Elkhart Municipal Airport.

Elkhart Police tell FOX28 News the crew reported a landing gear would not come down while they were attempting to land.  The Cessna Chancellor registered to Interplan Corp. of Granger reported a landing gear malfunction Thursday.

After several flybys, crews on the ground were able to spot all the landing gear was down.  The plane managed to land safely shortly after 6:00 p.m.

A flight tracker says the plane was on a flight from Louisville to Elkhart.
