Middlebury issues freeze warning for water customers

The sub-zero temperatures have many of us keeping a close eye on our homes' pipes. Frozen pipes can mean a big bill from the plumber, not to mention a big mess.

The Town of Middlebury has issued a freeze warning for customers.

During the warning, customers can call the town's water department to have their usage and billing adjusted for keeping a faucet trickling.

Turning on a cold water faucet to a slow trickle can help keep water moving and prevent freeze-up.  The adjustment will be in effect until the town removes the warning.

Middlebury's water department is also available to assist in evaluating waterline problems. Customers can contact the department at 574-825-1499.
